Obstetrics
Pregnancy Care
Dr Alice Truong provides comprehensive private obstetric care through her rooms at Bae Women’s Health in Mitcham, and delivers babies at Mitcham Private Hospital.
The first antenatal visit is usually between 8 to 10 weeks of gestation, where past pregnancy and medical history will be discussed in detail. In general, visits are monthly until 28 weeks gestation, 2-3 weekly until 36 weeks, and then weekly until birth. Visits may be more frequent if the pregnancy is high risk, or if there are any additional concerns. At each appointment, Dr Alice Truong will provide a bedside ultrasound to monitor the health and progress of the pregnancy.
There will be plenty of opportunities throughout your pregnancy to discuss your birth preferences and to ask any questions you may have.
Postnatal care will involve reviews while in hospital, as well as a 6 week postnatal visit in the rooms. A home visit from a specialist midwife/lactation consultant will also be arranged as part of your care.
